Position Summary:
The Temporary IT Support Technician will provide first-line technical support to school staff across our Division. This role will involve troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with network connectivity, and ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure. This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately 8 weeks, with the possibility of a slight extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective technical support via phone, email and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and other hardware issues.
- Support the IT team with network connectivity, including Wi-Fi and wired connections.
- Document support requests and resolutions accurately.
- Maintain a positive and helpful attitude while interacting with school staff.
- Follow established IT procedures and protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Interest and experience in providing IT support, preferably in an educational or similar environment.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle are required for travel between school sites.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon offer of employment.
Term: Approximately 8 weeks with potential for a slight extension.
Start Date: Monday, May 5 2025
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
