The Compensation Consultant plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, communication, and administration of all compensation-related activities and initiatives, aligning them with the Purolator's strategic objectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager Compensation, the Compensation Consultant requires providing robust analytical support, constructive insights, and practical solutions. As a team player, the Compensation Consultant must possess a solid foundation of knowledge and specialized experience in compensation continually identifying opportunities for improvement. Proficiency in the SuccessFactors Compensation Module is essential. Collaboration within the team is essential to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the compensation function.

  • Take ownership and actively contribute to the smooth and timely execution of year-end compensation activities using the SuccessFactors Compensation Module. This involves managing offline eligibility reports and calculation models, setting up worksheets, launching and validating worksheets, sending them for manager review, and completing the process.
  • Manage employee short-term incentive bonus programs, annual merit cycles, and provide ongoing administration support
  • Regularly validate employee data in Employee Central, collaborating with HR to clean up or correct data as needed
  • Assist the Manager in daily administration of share-based Long-term Incentive programs, handling tasks such as new account opening, participant information updates, addressing employee inquiries, processing terminations, forfeitures, grants, vesting, and generating reports.
  • Support the preparation of materials for Human Resources and Compensation Committee and Board of Director meetings
  • Provide defensible analysis and salary recommendations to HRBP for employee off-cycle salary reviews in both Canada and U.S., providing on-going education and consultation to HR and business leaders
  • Manage Off-cycle tracker and budget allocation processes
  • Manage all aspects of survey participation and survey reports during the survey season ensuring compliance with the Purolator’s compensation philosophy for both Canada and the U.S.
  • Proactively identify market best practices and compensation trends, conducting market benchmark analyses
  • Administer the Vehicle Allowance Program, including processing new applications, ensuring program compliance, and conducting market reviews
  • Collaborate with external administrator to administer Purolator’s Scholarship program, managing guideline and related materials, processing renewals and new applications, and handling invoices
  • Provide strong and in-depth analytic support, along with constructive insights to all potential changes
  • Develop, update and maintain mid-to-complex models, tools and templates required for scenario/ costing analysis
  • Establish and maintain strong strategic partnerships with stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service
  • Assist the Manager in managing all types of compensation-related employee communications
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the efficiency and service quality of the compensation function
  • Manage the Compensation inbox, organize and responding to inquires coming over
  • Assist in compensation projects as required
  • Perform any other tasks or activities as assigned

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR or a related field. CCP designation or working towards is an asset.
  • 3+ years of specialized experience working in Compensation field in a private sector
  • Must have working knowledge and experience on SuccessFactors Compensation Module
  • Consulting experience is preferred
  • Have experience and must be comfortable with working in fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Must be comfortable and have solid experience in processing and validating large datasets
  • Must be proficient in costing/ scenario modeling with advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Visio, PPT, PDF
  • Always maintains a positive, engaging, and self-motivated attitude
  • Proactively provide solutions or suggestions when bringing up issues
  • Must be attentively focusing on details, with strong customer and result driven, always attaching to timelines and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written, be able to influence, persuade and negotiate, and build trust with different levels of people
