We are seeking a Project Manager to support our growing team in Calgary, AB.
The Project Manager plays a dual role: managing client-facing projects while also leading or contributing to internal PTAG initiatives that enhance our methodologies, tools, and team culture.
This role requires a hands-on project leader who can plan and execute projects to completion, guide cross-functional teams, manage risks and budgets, and contribute to PTAG’s growth through mentoring, business development support, and process improvement.

In this role, you will:
Project Delivery & Leadership
- Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and close-out of assigned projects, ensuring alignment with contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.
- Define and maintain project WBS, schedule, cost baseline, and risk registers.
- Monitor performance metrics (SPI, CPI) and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Manage engineering, procurement, and construction interfaces within a matrixed environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder reporting.
- Foster a highly collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team environment.
- Mentor and coach junior project staff, promoting knowledge transfer and professional growth.
- Implement PTAG's Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards throughout all project phases.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance and reporting frameworks.
- Lead or contribute to internal process improvement efforts, including the development of tools, templates, and best practices.
- Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and contribute to PTAG's internal project management community.
- Support proposal writing, RFP responses, and client engagement initiatives.
- Drive adoption of digital collaboration and project management technologies.
Qualifications / Requirements
To succeed in this role, you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (required).
- 5-10 years of proven experience managing large-scale capital projects in power, energy and infrastructure.
- Experience managing construction or mission-critical facilities is highly valued.
- Strong working knowledge of project controls, risk management, and earned value management.
- Familiarity with government funded project requirements and reporting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and other project management tools. PMP certification or P.Eng license preferred (or in progress).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset.
