Pembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3800 students in 15 community schools in north central Alberta. The Position
The Student Transportation Provider collaborates with parents, school staff, and bus drivers to ensure safe transportation of student(s) with special needs. Hours of work will be 5 days/week at 8 hours/day following the school calendar.
Duties are to commence approximately August 27, 2025 and will end June 25, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive passenger(s) following a prescribed route from Westlock/Clyde area to Edmonton
- Perform daily vehicle safety inspections, documenting and reporting
- Share any difficulties implementing the plan with the Student Services team as per the Pembina Hills procedures
- Promote a positive environment
- Effectively monitor and solve minor behaviour issues
- Use good judgement and safe driving skills
- Communicate with parents if there is an emergent interruption/delay with transportation (ie) vehicle breakdown or driver illness
Qualifications
- Experience working with behaviorally challenged and non-verbal students would be an asset
- Ability to set clear boundaries, communicate effectively and efficiently and work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
- Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
- Class 4 Drivers License
- Early, split and late shifts may be required
- SIVA training would be an asset
- First aid would be an asset
