The Division
Pembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3800 students in 15 community schools in north central Alberta. PHSD also provides education to over 10,000 students from within and beyond our borders, through our online school, Vista Virtual School.
PHSD currently operates 68 bus routes, transporting approximately 3,000 students daily. There are 4 contract routes and 64 routes operated by division drivers. For more information on our remarkable Division, please visit our website at
The Position
Duties for this position include light maintenance of the bus fleet such as oil changes and greasing of vehicles, ensuring work area is tidy including cleaning and sweeping of the shop, and providing general assistance to journeyman mechanics and the transportation department.
This position is 5.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year and will begin as soon as possible.
Qualifications:
- Able to take direction and complete tasks as assigned
- General computer knowledge
- Able to multitask and handle multiple priorities on a daily basis
- Physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
- Must have customer service skills
- Positive and safety conscious attitude
- Class 1 or 2 driver’s license with Q endorsement would be an asset
- Automotive repair experience preferred
