Casual Custodians
for both immediate and future needs
Various Locations
Position Status: Casual, on-call
Work Year: Up to 12 months per year
Hours of Work: Flexible hours and days are available, from 3 to 8 hours daily, to a maximum of 40 hours weekly. Weekend shifts also become available
Weekday hours range from 2:00 pm to midnight
Weekend hours range from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
Note that during the summer, most shifts are during daytime hours
Salary: $22.08 per hour + 4% vacation pay
Under the general direction of the Team Lead, the Casual Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleaning of assigned areas to the prescribed standard of cleanliness according to predetermined procedures. The role would be to support the Chief Custodian with the cleaning, disinfection, and wipe down of the school. The Casual Custodian must be committed to preventing needless waste or careless use of supplies, equipment, or other utilities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge in custodial practices and equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
- A level of reading, comprehension and writing skills sufficient to understand oral and written instructions or directions and written information regarding site activities.
- A level of mathematical skills sufficient to perform calculations such as cleaning fluids ratios.
- Ability to use electronic mail.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.

As a condition of employment, all newly hired Casual Custodians will be required to submit a Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector completed within the last 6 months.
