SUMMER SCHOOL SITE ADMINISTRATOR - Italy Academic Credit with Travel Experience ProgramContingent on sufficient program/course enrolment
Duration & Location:
Parent Information Session: June 6, 2026 (12pm-2pm); location: Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School, Grimsby
Three Teacher/Student Learning Sessions: May 30, 2026 (9am - 2pm) and June 6, 2026 (9am-12pm) and June 13, 2026 (9am-1pm); location Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School, Grimsby
Travel portion in Italy: July 3 to July 25, 2026 (tentative dates) in Italy
Total Hours: 125.5
Rate of Pay: $ 54.53 per hour (inclusive of vacation pay and other statutory payments)
Applicants should note that this program (study/travel credit program in Italy) has been organized with the participation & in partnership with a not-for-profit cultural community organization. Students from the NCDSB as well as students from other Ontario school Boards may enroll in the program. The program has been in existence for approximately 30 years.
The ideal applicant is one who will actively promote the program within the NCDSB Secondary Schools and one who will be available to make presentations to parents and students. Furthermore, the preferred applicant will be able to converse in the Italian Language and will have some general knowledge about the culture and history of Italy. Ontario Principals’ qualifications and Secondary School experience a definite asset.
*Oversee day to day operations of the summer school site in Italy and during the sessions located at Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School, Grimsby.
*Effectively deal with all potential student issues that may arise.
*In cooperation with the Principal of Continuing Education and the Community Organization, resolve any transportation issues that may arise before, during and after the program.
*Maintain order and discipline among staff and students on a 24/7 basis during the Italy portion of the program.
*Assume responsibility for health and safety issues within the summer school site.
*Supervise staff at assigned site, monitoring program delivery and assist teaching staff as necessary.
*May be requested to perform other duties as assigned by the Principal of Continuing Education.
*Excellent problem solving, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills are required
*Experience in a supervisory role of teachers is an asset.
*Basic knowledge of OH&S Act and ESA Act.
