Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. We are seeking a motivated Project Lead to join our Sustaining Capital Projects team at Red Chris Mine with a competitive base salary between 126,000-168,000, with an additional short-term incentive. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity. In this role, you will support the safe, responsible, and efficient execution of new infrastructure built at Red Chris. You will be responsible to lead the construction execution, contractor management, design optimization, and planning with a team of project delivery professionals.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects from initiation to close-out, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, regulatory bodies, and senior management, maintaining clear and proactive communication.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to address delays or budget overruns. Including preparing and presenting regular project reports, dashboards, and status updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee contract management, including scope definition, change orders, invoicing, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Lead site inspections and field visits to assess work quality, progress, and adherence to design specifications.
- Promote continuous improvement through post-project reviews, lessons learned, and process refinement initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, project coordinators, and support staff to build strong, capable teams.
- Support permitting and regulatory approval processes, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability across all project phases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Geological, or Mining Engineering or Project Management Professional (PMP) is required.
- Master’s degree (optional but beneficial) in Project Management or Business Administration (MBA)
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in mining, or industrial infrastructure execution. Strong interest in construction execution and experiencing a multitude of interdisciplinary projects through completion.
- Familiarity with project delivery methods (scheduling, earned value progress, lean project delivery)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a remote mine site on a rotational basis.
