Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. This role is a development opportunity for existing employees to learn to operate blast hole drill rigs in the open pit.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $48.40 and additional benefits. We are seeking an individual for a Fly-In, Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotation.
Management of the following;
- Conduct and record pre-trip inspections on all equipment used on a daily basis or before use
- Report all equipment faults when identified
- Conduct an inspection of your work area prior to starting work
- Servicing and watering of drill rigs in a safe and efficient manner
- Safe transportation of drill rods and consumables to and from the drills
- Ensure good housekeeping of drill patterns and drill rigs
- Ensure quality control is implemented and maintained and ensure pattern prep is maintained to a high standard
- Ensure drilling of blast holes is within the required parameters
- Ensure adequate barriers, signage and delineation of drill locations
- Conduct all tasks according to relevant procedures
- Conduct risk assessments FLHA’s when required
- Ensuring accurate, completed and signed drill logs are documented and communicated effectively
- Act as Blast Guard during blasting activities if required
- Any other duties as required

Required and Desired Qualifications:
Good understanding of open pit mining operations, experience in operating heavy equipment, current drivers licence.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$48.40, as of April 24, 2026 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
