Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. You will be a key contributor to improving the reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance of fixed plant assets at Red Chris Mine. By developing effective maintenance strategies and supporting failure analysis, your work will directly reduce unplanned downtime, strengthen safety outcomes, and enable consistent production performance across critical mechanical systems.
- Support a strong safety culture by embedding risk‑based maintenance into all asset strategies.
- Develop, review, and optimize maintenance tasks for rotating and static mechanical equipment, including pumps, conveyors, crushers, and mills.
- Contribute to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) and help implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeat failures.
- Create, validate, and maintain standard task procedures (STPs) and maintenance documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Millwrights, Reliability Advisors, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure maintenance strategies are practical and executable.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), asset data, and maintenance records in SAP.
- Identify critical spares and assess asset risks, performance constraints, and reliability gaps.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives, vendor engagements, and ongoing improvement projects.
- Track and contribute to reliability KPIs such as MTBF, asset availability, and bad actor performance.
- Provide coverage and support across the broader reliability and asset management team as needed.
- Prefered but not mandatory, Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright certification
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, reliability, or asset management within mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of fixed plant equipment and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, OEM manuals, and technical documentation.
- Clear technical writing skills for developing procedures and maintenance documentation.
- A practical, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- This role is based at Red Chris Mine, supporting fixed plant operations in a site‑based, operational mining environment.
- You will work closely with maintenance, reliability, and operations teams in a hands‑on, safety‑first culture.
- The position is an individual contributor role within the Asset Management discipline, offering exposure to complex equipment and reliability challenges in a large‑scale operation.
The expected salary range for this role is CA $81,100.00 - 101,400.00 per year. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
