About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

As an Advisor, Hygiene at Newmont Brucejack Mine, you will be instrumental in protecting worker health and ensuring compliance with occupational health standards. You’ll lead exposure assessments, guide hazard mitigation strategies, and help maintain a safe and healthy workplace across Newmont’s operations.
Design, implement, and evaluate occupational hygiene programs to reduce exposure to health hazards
Conduct field-based assessments of chemical, physical, and biological hazards; enforce legislative controls
Investigate workplace health concerns and illnesses; implement corrective actions and preventive measures
Analyze exposure scenarios and propose innovative solutions where regulatory guidance is limited
Review consultant reports, validate data accuracy, and recommend evidence-based improvements
Guide and mentor junior safety and hygiene staff across site operations
Support leadership with technical reports and risk-based recommendations during high-priority cases
Lead or collaborate on drafting policies, standards, and internal health protocols
Stay ahead of emerging workplace risks through proactive monitoring and expert research
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Applied Engineering, Science, or Occupational Health and Safety with an IH focus
Minimum 3 - 5 years of direct professional experience in industrial hygiene or a related field
Proficiency in using exposure monitoring tools (air sampling pumps, heat stress monitors, gas detectors, dosimeters)
Expertise in evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting exposure data and scientific reports
Demonstrated ability to draft technical reports, hazard alerts, and policy documents with scientific clarity
Strong ability to calibrate and operate hygiene instruments to ensure data quality
Working knowledge of the BC Health, Safety and Reclamation Code and WorkSafeBC OHS regulations is an asset
Advanced computer skills for data analysis, technical writing, and literature review
Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills across multidisciplinary teams
Location: Brucejack Mine (fly-in/fly-out role)
Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Conditions: Onsite in a remote, industrial mining environmen
Requirements: Must pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test, and comply with PPE and safety protocols

The expected salary range for this role is CA$83,400-111,180 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
