Dr. Ken Sauer Fine Arts School
0.5 FTE Library Assistant
18.75 hours per week
Start Date: August 25, 2025
Dr. Ken Sauer Fine Arts School is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and student-centered individual to fill a 0.5 FTE part-time Library Assistant position starting for the 2025-2026 school year.
Dr. Ken Sauer Fine Arts School is an inclusive learning community offering arts-centered learning to students Kindergarten through grade six. The staff have committed to the vision: To inquire. To create. To build an inclusive community. Our school mission is to foster capable and creative thinkers where learning is guided by inquiry, integration, cooperative learning, and reflection. We work to facilitate a restorative and inclusive community through meaningful relationships.
Main duties will include:
- taking leadership in organizing and maintaining the school library,
- planning for author or genre spotlights and features to help foster student enthusiasm for reading,
- hosting book fairs,
- assisting students and staff with accessing library resources,
- maintaining our collection of Chromebooks and iPads.
This position will also have a small office clerical role, working with the Administrative Assistant.
Preference will be given to applicants who have previous library experience, an enthusiasm for sharing a love of reading with students, previous experience with the integrated library software systems, and proficiency using Google Suite.
This individual will also value a student-centered focus and a positive team/collaborative approach. The successful candidate must be aligned with the values and vision of Dr. Ken Sauer School and Medicine Hat Public School Division.
