Academic Advisor - Coulee Collegiate
Coulee Collegiate is seeking a Part Time (0.50 FTE) Academic Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a teacher to work in an innovative environment, while assisting students with their academic goals. The school is located on MHC property and is on the third floor, above the Vera Bracken Library.
Description:
Under the guidance of the School Principal, the successful candidate will be involved in program planning for students, developing plans for student success, and helping them achieve graduation requirements or entrance requirements for post secondary schooling. This is a unique position in that it is full time for approximately 4 months of the school year. During the months of September, October (partial), January, February (partial) and June, the successful candidate will work a full-time schedule at Coulee Collegiate. For the remainder of the school months, the staff member would not be working and would have no responsibilities to the school. (There is flexibility to the dates, and specific dates can be discussed upon contact with the Principal). This position may best be suited for an experienced Academic Advisor/Administrator/Teacher who is looking to move to a part time position. The successful candidate will exhibit a flexible, student centered and collaborative philosophy to align with the values of Coulee Collegiate. Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree from an accredited University
- Alberta Teaching Certificate

About Coulee Collegiate
Coulee Collegiate opened during the 2020-2021 school year, and developed in partnership between Medicine Hat Public School Division, Prairie Rose Public Schools, and Medicine Hat College. The school is designed to assist students in academic upgrading through a Distance Learning approach or through face to face classes timetabled following the College calendar. Coulee Collegiate is a blend between high school and College environments, providing an innovative setting where students have the opportunity to take high school classes, at their own pace, and work in a positive environment with like minded learners.
