Assignment Type: Temporary

FTE: 0.43 - 0.86

Assignment Duration: November 17, 2025 - June 26, 2026



Primary Duties:

  • Implement strategies and activities developed by specialists (e.g., speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, or inclusive learning teachers).

  • Support children’s development in areas such as:

    • Communication and language

    • Social-emotional regulation

    • Fine and gross motor skills

    • Cognitive and early literacy/numeracy skills

    • Independence and self-help skills (e.g., dressing, toileting, transitions)

  • Work closely with consultants, therapists, and the classroom teacher to carry out programming recommendations.

  • Participate in team meetings, progress reviews, and professional development when appropriate.

  • Communicate regularly with the supervising teacher or inclusion coordinator about progress and challenges.

  • Adapt materials or modify activities to meet the child’s needs while keeping them engaged with peers.

  • Promote positive social interactions and model appropriate behaviors.

  • Assist with routines (snack, circle time, outdoor play, etc.) in ways that build children’s independence.



Technical Skills Required:



  • Must have good organizational skills and be capable of working in a multi-task, team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with school staff and students.

  • Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) training is an asset. Training will be provided.

  • A current Criminal Records Check and AB Children’s Services Record Intervention Check will be required.

  • Child and Youth Care Diploma, Education Assistant Certificate.
