Labour Coordinator (Workforce planning)

 

Maple Reinders is currently seeking a Labour Coordinator to join our team at our head office in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site or office presence at least three days per week. Travel to construction sites across the province will be required depending on project needs.

 

This role plays a key part in ensuring workforce readiness and timely labour deployment through proactive planning, project schedule analysis and strong industry relationships. The Labour Coordinator will report to the field operations team and will be responsible for engaging, onboarding, and deploying skilled trades labour across multiple ICI and Civil construction projects.

  

Key Responsibilities:

 

Workforce Planning & Deployment:

 

  • Partner with site supervisors and project teams to forecast labour needs and plan workforce allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of worker availability and upcoming project requirements.
  • Coordinate rapid deployment of tradespeople to job sites, often within 24-48 hours.
  • Track placements and monitor attendance to ensure project timelines are met.

Relationship Management:

 

  • Build strong connections with tradespeople to support retention and engagement.
  • Maintain regular communication with site teams to stay ahead of labourer needs.
  • Represent Maple Reinders professionally at industry and community events.

Pipeline Management:

 

  • Partner with the talent acquisition team to ensure sourcing needs for skilled trades roles-including Pipefitters, Plumbers, Carpenters, Skilled Labourers, Millwrights, and Concrete Formsetters-are consistently met.
  • Maintain a warm pipeline of qualified trades talent with ongoing engagement.
  • Leverage relationships with unions, training centers, and community organizations to attract candidates.

Onboarding:

 

  • Assess skilled labourers and verify certifications, tickets, and job readiness.
  • Ensure candidates understand site expectations, PPE requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Facilitate orientations and confirm all safety and HR requirements are completed

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • 1-3 years of experience in workforce planning or site coordination of skilled trade labourers in construction (ICI, Residential, Civil or Union).
  • Strong understanding of trades roles and job site requirements (or willingness to learn).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive and responsive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites regularly.
  • Experience working with unions or construction associations.
  • Existing relationships within local trades communities.

Salary Range: $65,000k - $80,000k/ Year (Salary depending on skills and years of relevant experience.)
