Job Responsibilities:

Compensation Range: $80,000-95,000 annually

PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Plant specialist for Manufacturing Processes; CNC, Laser Welding, Balancing, Piercing, Grob, Washing & Assembly
  • Implementation of complete process and production signoff & execution of flawless launch on assigned new programs
  • Support of maintenance and engineering activities on assigned work centers & programs
  • Lead & support MAFACT manufacturing activities plant wide
  • Lead & execute process improvements to reduce cost & improve OEE
  • Completes project-type assignments of various complexity as required
  • Knowledge of Mechatronics and background in Electro-Mechanical product/process development an asset

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical, Welding or Industrial Engineering degree from a recognized university
  • 5-10 years of Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience managing/improving LASER WELDING CELLS and/or CNC MACHINIING CENTERS and/or AUTOMATED ASSEMBLY LINES (using robots)
  • One to three years of experience in Electro-Mechanical product/process development
  • Sound understanding of Laser welding/CNC machining, automation & metal forming technology
  • Intermediate to expert level GDT knowledge & application experience in reviewing stack ups & assembly of various components in an assembly
  • Project Management and APQP experience
  • Competent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent documentation, organizational and time management skills
  • Expert in 3D CAD Modelling (solid works), computer skills and drafting experience (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
  • Excellent English language & communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of IATF and ISO14001 systems
  • Basic understanding of WHMIS, IMDS, Ergonomics, Healthy & Safety regulations
  • Able to work under extreme demands & tight schedules
  • P.Eng designation or must be registered with the PEO as a EIT (applicant in training)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Some coordination required with CFT
  • Some travel outside of Canada may be required for supplier visits
  • Plant environment
  • Work irregular hours and overtime as required by customer demands
  • May include operation of the equipment to assist in the optimization stage
