Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for co-ordinating and assigning activities related to maintenance operations and ensuring that all timing schedules and regulations of the trades are adhered to. The Team Leader supports management and maintenance personnel by acting as liaison in matters regarding policy application, employee relations, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Must have valid trades license.

2. Equivalent to completion of specialized courses normally taught in community or specialized colleges consisting of more than 2 academic years.

3. Participation in Presstran’s Leader In training program a definite asset.

4. Able to understand, anticipate, follow and provide direction while exercising maturity of judgement.

5. Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact. Strong time management, leadership, communication, organizational and presentation skills.

6. Must successfully complete required training provided by Presstran (i.e. the operation of cranes, lift trucks, aerial lift)

7. Must be computer literate. (CMS, MRM, word-processing and spread sheet programs).

8. Apply Magna Charter and How We Work Together Principles in day-to-day interactions.

9. Physically capable of performing essential duties of the job.

10. Able to work overtime to meet customer needs and to work all three shifts, as required

DUTIES:

1. Monitors and supports production schedule and adapts to any changes.

2. Reviews concerns and problems from previous shifts.

3. Instructs and organizes the department workforce for required daily activities.

4. Ensure standardized work processes are being followed. Ensures that all documentation is accurate

5. Continually monitors production for breakdowns, or problems

6. Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards.

7. Liaison between Material Conveyance Team and Department Leadership.

8. First contact for production departments (i.e. Assembly, Stamping)).

9. Organizes the department daily workflow to ensure activities, tasks and targets are being met.

10. Ensures all WIG meetings are being attended.

11. Orders materials required for repair, modifications, installation, and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures.

12. Assists with repair, modification, and installation activities with other maintenance personnel (when required).

13. Participates in the design and/or redesign of new or used equipment.

14. Supports with quality issues. Knows daily OA and FTQ.

15. Supports daily PM assignments, does follow-up and monitors PM schedule

16. Supports T/Ms during breakdowns, reports, C/M tracking sheets and MRM entries are being completed.

17. Follows up regularly on MRM data. Maintains and monitors 5S conditions in the shop and on the floor.

18. Check and monitor vacation schedules. Attends all job-related training.

19. Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Maintenance Reliability Manager Maintenance Manager Program.

EQUIPMENT and/or PRODUCT FAMILIARITY:

Equipment: PC; Various industrial machinery, equipment, various hand tools, aerial work platforms, cranes, forklifts, office equipment.

Software: Maintenance Reliability Manager, CMS, spread-sheet programs

RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Under the general direction of the Department Manager, the Team Leader confers regularly with other Divisional personnel on matters related to maintenance operations. The incumbent requires excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. The Team Leader works in both office and plant environments and may be exposed to elements such as noise and temperature.
