Job Description Summary
Assists users and information technology staff with desktop technology basic information and configurations. Performs basic troubleshooting for desktop hardware and software. Provides desktop "help desk" function. Orders and receives desktop equipment. Maintains inventory of hardware and software. Administers systems, repairs and licensing. Diagnoses faults.Standard Duties & Responsibilities
- Support compliance to Magna Standards such as MMSA, MAFACT and MQS systems.
- Support compliance to IATF, ISO 14001 and TISAX systems.
- Complies and upholds the expectations of internal standards, processes, and legislative requirements.
- Conduct in accordance with the Magna Charter, Magna Operating Principles and Corporate Ethics guidelines.
- Promotes and ensures adherence to Company, Legislative and Magna Safety practices.
- Achieve technical confidence to challenge current standards and progress division to the next level.
- Assist with improvement initiatives related to Key Operating Indicators assigned by GM.
- Responsible to identify any potential or actual Health & Safety concerns to ensure risks are mitigated and compliance to legislation is consistently maintained.
- Support quality, safety, environmental and sustainability objectives.
- Complete corrective and preventive actions as appropriate for any non-conformance within jurisdiction and assist with non-compliances identified during customer / internal and / or external audit.
- Participate in the continuous improvement and cost reduction activities using problem solving methods.
- Participate in company meetings and key events as required.
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to daily 5S activities and improvements.
- Work with other departments towards overall plant goals.
- Any other requests deemed reasonable by management
- System Analysis & Design: Analyze current IT systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. Design and implement new systems or enhancements to existing systems to meet business requirements.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to end-users & resolve IT-related issues; Troubleshoot systems and identify solutions to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- System Testing & Quality Assurance: Assisting in the development and execute test plans to ensure systems meet quality standards and business requirements. Identify and document system defects, and work with development teams to resolve them; Provide report outs on system performance.
- Training & Support: Train end-users on new systems, software, and processes. Lead / assist in the development of user manuals and training materials.
- Security & IT Compliance: Ensure IT systems practices comply with security standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and practice security measures to protect data and systems.
- Projects & Programs: Assist & report out on deliverables for program launches & continuous improvement projects. Manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including suppliers, developers, engineering, production, and other Support Staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Recommend and implement improvements to IT systems and processes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain electronic data per retention and information security requirements.
- Support: Provide back up for department Support Staff as required.
Qualifications
- Education: University or college graduate in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.Additional Training: Courses in Database Management; Networking; Cloud Computing; Data Analysis, Project Management, Troubleshooting and Cybersecurity an asset.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field
- Characteristics: Must be a high energy results-oriented individual; Able to communicate effectively with coworkers; Effective troubleshooting; Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance; Demonstrated initiative to improve tasks and take action. Ability to uphold confidentiality & integrity.
- Technical: Experience in multiple software / operating systems and communication experience with PC Local Area Network, MRP/ERP systems experience preferred.
- Protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
- Report any suspected security incidents or breaches immediately.
- Ensure information is used solely for the purpose for which it was intended.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all proprietary information, both during and after employment with Magna.
