The Internal Audit Summer Student assists in conducting independent internal audits related to Financial, Compliance, IT, and other business areas to ensure that established policies and procedures are followed and that operational and financial standards are met.
Please note: Magna International Inc. is an approved CPA training office, and students will be eligible to receive CPA training hours.
Major ResponsibilitiesPerform financial, compliance, and other audit activities within required timeframes.
Clearly document audit procedures performed and results obtained, including any control deficiencies, in accordance with departmental standards.
Create and maintain audit files.
Evaluate audit results to determine the effectiveness of internal operating policies, internal controls, regulatory compliance, administrative procedures, and reporting practices.
Identify gaps in internal controls and provide recommendations for improvement.
Use Internal Audit databases to support report writing and archiving of audit results.
Conduct research and prepare pre‑audit files and background materials to ensure focused, efficient, and effective engagement execution.
Perform other duties as assigned by Internal Audit department management.
Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.
Strong personal values, ethics, and integrity consistent with those of Magna's core values.
Regular overnight travel (25-50%).
Travel to Magna divisions in Ontario (50-75% of work time), with potential for schedule changes due to unplanned demands.
Must have a reliable vehicle.
This position offers an hourly wage of $20.00.
