Job Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Starting at $92,000/ annually.
  • Immediate, open position.
  • Develop and deploy AI-based automation systems for robotic assembly, welding, and material handling lines.
  • Integrate computer vision for real-time defect detection, part verification, and surface inspection.
  • Collaborate with controls engineers to enhance existing PLC - robot communication for smarter decision-making.
  • Analyze production data (cycle times, scrap rates, downtime) to identify root causes and optimize line efficiency.
  • Build data pipelines connecting shopfloor (robots, PLCs, and sensors) to AI analytics platforms (Edge or Cloud).
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to visualize KPIs such as OEE, throughput, and quality trends.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives with AI-assisted process tuning.
  • Implement predictive maintenance solutions using vibration, current, or temperature sensor data from robotic, compressor and other equipment.
  • Participate in internal audits (ITGC, MAFACT, IATF) and maintain accurate documentation and change management system/control
  • Available to respond to and resolve off hour inquiries and emergencies.
  • Maintains familiarity with current technologies and future trends.
  • Other duties as assigned by a supervisor or Manager
  • Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and
  • Safety) systems and standards as it pertains to their work
  • Adhere to the IATF16949 Standard as required
  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to the position

Performance Measurement:

  • Enhance product quality via real-time defect detection.
  • Optimize robotic workflows and material handling paths.
  • Reduce unplanned downtime with predictive maintenance.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or a high-volume industrial automation environment.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC, industrial robots, IoT sensors
  • Proficiency with Ignition, SQL Programming, Python
  • AI / ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and computer vision tools (OpenCV).
  • Experienced in implementing neural net based classifiers.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and reinforcement learning technics.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT).
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and process control principles.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing AI vision systems for assembly and final inspection.
  • Background with predictive maintenance or industrial IoT.
