The Department of Surgery is seeking an Associate Active Urologist with subspecialty expertise in reconstructive urologic procedures. The successful candidate will be working with a strong, supportive, and collegial group of colleagues in a two-site community hospital organization committed to providing high quality, comprehensive clinical services. The candidate selected would have access to available resources within the Department of Surgery in the Division of Urology for emergency consultations and elective surgery. The Urologist would be expected to provide an equal share of on-call coverage within the Division and would operate a Urology Clinic within the hospital catchment.

Responsibilities

As the Urologist, the Physician will be responsible for the following:

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with acute reconstructive urology issues (both inpatients and outpatients).
  • Manage patients through the continuum of hospital care.
  • Order treatments, tests, and consults with specialty physicians and primary care physicians where necessary.
  • Provide outpatient care for urologic patients
  • Provide consultation on patients already admitted.
  • Perform elective surgery utilizing existing resources within Division of Urology.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as agreed upon by the Division of Urology

  • Clinical expertise in diagnosis and treatment of reconstructive urologic issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member within a group environment.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.

Education - Certification - License

  • Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
  • Post Graduate training in Urology.
  • Certification in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCSC).
  • Canadian Medical Protection Association or equivalent in good standing.
