Responsibilities- Provide Advanced Footcare in accordance with College and clinical standards
- Perform treatments including nail and callus care, wart management, chronic and acute wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Provide foot health education to patients and local professionals
What You Bring
Required Skills & Qualifications- Current, unrestricted registration with your provincial or territorial nursing regulatory body
- Professional liability insurance
- Certification as an Advanced Footcare Nurse
- Training and competency in diabetic foot assessments
- Demonstrated commitment to safe, evidence-based footcare
- Dedication to ongoing annual continuing education
Strong Assets- Training in diabetic wound care
- Completion of a medical reprocessing course (e.g., PHO, CSA “Reprocessing Foot Care Devices,” IPAC Canada, CDMR, or equivalent)
Compliance & StandardsYou practice in accordance with:
- CAFCN National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada
- IPAC Canada guidelines, including point-of-use sterility for reprocessed instruments
- Provincial/territorial nursing regulatory requirements
- All relevant privacy and confidentiality legislation
