We are seeking a temporary full-time teacher to teach grades 1 to 12 Physical Education. This position will begin on January 29th, 2026, and end on February 27, 2026, with the possibility of an extension until June 26, 2026, or until the incumbent teacher returns.
We are seeking a teacher who has:
- Appropriate educational training and experience teaching the Alberta Jr. High Physical Education curriculum;
- A strong understanding of outcomes-based assessment practices;
- Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team;
- A commitment to building relationships with students to create a safe, caring, and welcoming learning environment;
- A strong belief in parent involvement and communication, including regular communication with home, beyond the use of report cards;
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills;
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with current outcomes-based assessment practices and ability to develop multiple assessments, such as portfolios and projects, in addition to more traditional assessments;
- An ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioural, emotional, and/or curricular needs within the classroom setting;
- Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for the same;
