Living Sky School Division is seeking a dynamic and relational school leader for the position of Principal at Cando Community School in Cando, Saskatchewan.

We believe school-based administrators play a critical role in student success and community strength. We are looking for a leader who is committed to building strong relationships, leading learning, and fostering a caring and respectful school culture grounded in high expectations and meaningful connections.

About the Role

The successful candidate will demonstrate strength and commitment in the following leadership areas:

  • Leader of Learning (Instructional Leadership)
  • Setter of Vision and Direction
  • Keeper of a Caring and Respectful School Culture
  • Developer of People and Builder of Relationships
  • Strengthener of the Educational Community (through partnerships with families, First Nations communities, and external agencies)
  • Champion of Continuous Improvement and Innovation

Candidates will be skilled in trauma-informed practices and committed to honouring Indigenous teachings, diversity, and inclusive education. Experience supporting differentiated instruction and targeted interventions to meet the needs of every learner will be considered an asset.

Applicants must:

  • Possess a Master’s Degree in Education or demonstrate commitment to completing post-graduate studies in a relevant field
  • Hold or be eligible for a valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate

About Cando Community School

Cando Community School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school located in the Hamlet of Cando. Our students attend from Red Pheasant Cree First Nation, Mosquito First Nation, and surrounding communities.

We are proud to operate on an alternate school calendar, which includes 14 additional Fridays designated as non-workdays, creating several four-day instructional weeks throughout the school year. This calendar supports both student engagement and staff wellness while maintaining strong instructional outcomes.
