We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of full-time Vacuum Heat Treat Operator. You will calibrate furnaces, monitor technical specifications, and ensure the metallurgical integrity of high-performance turbine components. The hours will typically be Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Operate furnaces to ensure that temperature settings, pressure, and time durations are accurate and within specifications
  • Review technical specifications to understand the materials being treated and the desired properties
  • Inspect raw materials before and after heat treatment to ensure proper size, shape, and quality
  • Perform routine maintenance on heat treatment equipment to keep it running efficiently
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with company safety regulations and quality standards

Key Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to identify and fix equipment malfunctions or problems quickly
  • Good visual acuity and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Basic math skills

Key Experience/Education:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook an asset
  • Experience programming furnace controllers, reading furnace charts and verifying that performed heat treatments are in compliance with specifications an asset
