You are an experienced Environmental professional who will support all aspects of the environmental program for the Project, including the development and implementation of all plans, procedures, and reports required to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and project specific environmental obligations. You will also monitor, audit, and verify adherence to environmental commitments, including any terms and conditions associated with environmental permits throughout the Project lifecycle.Holding the Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) designation-or the ability to obtain it within a defined timeframe-is required, ensuring you bring advanced technical competency in erosion and sediment control planning, risk assessment, and field level execution.

This is a site-based position in Edmonton, AB, supporting our infrastructure division.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Supporting all aspects of Ledcor's environmental program for the Project Work, including overseeing the environmental auditing program
- Establish and implement proactive environmental control measures to mitigate impacts to air quality, spills response, fuel, hazardous materials, light, noise & vibration, soil/materials, stakeholder, sustainability, tree & vegetation, waste and hazardous waste, water, wildlife, concrete, environmentally sensitive areas and all environmental matters and related issues from construction activities in support of the project
- Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable environmental requirements, necessary permits and authorizations, Best Management Practices, and ensuring the requirements of the Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Work Plans are in place. Work with operations management and staff to ensure compliance with these Plans
- Ensure the completion and submission of daily and weekly monitoring reports as required to project supervisory teams and/or client representatives
- Manage site Environmental Records; including inspection records, audits, including written reports, monitoring information and photographs, corrective actions
- Act as a liaison between the environmental and construction teams to address and resolve concerns/issues related to construction activities
- Facilitate meetings and training sessions to ensure project personnel are aware of the environmental requirements, Management Plans and procedures
- Communicate corrective actions and resolutions for issues or challenges that impact the project including, areas of potential impacts to the project schedule, to ensure timely and successful project delivery
- Provide recommendations to the project management team on the implementation of environmental processes and mitigations to ensure all environmental considerations are effectively implemented on the Project, as required
- Maintaining working relationships with relevant Project team members, Client’s Representatives, Environmental Authorities and Interested Parties
- Preparing and submitting to the Client's Representative all plans, reports and documents required by Design-Builder’s Environmental Obligations
Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in environmental management, experience with major civil construction projects. Experience in light rail transit construction and urban settings would be an asset
- Post-Secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering and/or Earth Sciences disciplines (e.g., Biology, Geography, Forestry, Agriculture, etc.) or Diploma in Environmental Technology
- Professional License or Certification such as; CPESC (required), RP/P.Bio, P.Ag, P.Eng etc
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices
- Knowledge of construction site erosion and sedimentation controls and BMP’s
- Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Work Conditions:
- Field responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditions
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends
- Must reside in the Edmonton Area
