Our Technology, Strategy and Transformation(TST) team in Calgary is looking for a manager to support clients in the energy sector. In this role you will be responsible for contributing to business development and practice growth activities, plan and manage multiple client engagements, and lead the day-to-day operation and execution of services in this team. You will play a key role in delivering high quality analysis and insights across a breadth of business. 


What you will do

As a Manager in our Technology, Strategy and Transformation Advisory practice, you will use your strong business acumen and be a key member of a high performing team.

 

The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple TST Advisory engagements, including IT strategy, digital transformation, and IT operating model design by managing complex stakeholder relationships and mobilizing solutions teams to bring valuable solutions.
  • Contribute to all aspects of building the TST practice through business development including leading proposals, consultative selling, and opportunity identification, and speaking and community engagement with a focus on building a personal and practice brand. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry IT and business leaders through active client engagement, proposal development, and thought leadership initiatives. Lead the development and submission of proposals and bid documents. 
  • Lead client meetings and the team in developing presentation materials for project kick-off meetings, requirements gathering, project management, presentation of results, etc.
  • Work with technology solution teams to identify and support implementations.
  • Leading implementation of roadmaps across all IT domains, including process and data flow, governance frameworks, quality management programs, platform modernization & rationalization, governance frameworks, business cases, cost/benefit analyses, etc.
  • Conduct interviews and/or workshops with client stakeholders and collect and analyze relevant documentation such as processes, controls, policies, strategies,
  • Leading and guiding clients in implementing recommendations.
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality work on time that meets the Firm’s quality standards and client expectations
  • Manage, mentor and train Consultants and Senior Consultants within TST Advisory Practice in developing skills and applying methodologies.
  • Working with cross-functional teams with people of diverse backgrounds and skill sets
  • Applying best practice and process maturity knowledge observed in client engagements and personal research.
  • Travel may be up to 30%

What you bring to the role

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in consulting and/or in IT management roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree is an asset, preferably in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  • Experience in Energy and Resources.
  • Proven understanding of modern technologies and their applications in the business world and various industries.
  • Proven understanding of Technology & Digital Strategies aligned to Business needs.
  • Experience with developing requirements and implementing core operational and financial systems in these sectors.
  • Experience with Data Analytics, IT/OT, AI, and/or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) considered an asset.
  • Team leadership capabilities with a drive to work closely in a collaborative team environment, lead internal and external teams and manage project deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address client requirements.
  • Relevant industry designations such as ITIL Service Manager, PMP or TOGAF considered an asset.
