Our Technology, Strategy and Transformation (TST) team in Calgary is looking for a Director to support the transformation of IT organizations. In this role, you will be responsible for leading strategic engagements, advising CIOs and senior technology leaders on IT strategy, operating models, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, governance, and emerging technologies. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality analysis and insights across a breadth of business.
What you will do
As a Director in our Technology, Strategy and Transformation Advisory practice, you will use your strong business acumen and be a key member of a high performing team.
The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities, including:
- Lead TST advisory engagements including IT strategy, digital transformation, and IT operating model design.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with C-level executives.
- Managing project teams and ensuring the delivery of quality outcomes.
- Develop thought leadership and contribute to business development.
- Contribute to all aspects of building the TST practice through business development, speaking and community engagement with a focus on building a personal and practice brand Lead business and practice development efforts by preparing proposals, marketing material, internal and external presentations, seminar materials, articles, etc.
- Mentor and coach Senior Managers, Managers, and other consultants.
- Identifying and leading the preparation of proposals, in collaboration with the Partner.
- Planning and managing engagements under the key team members of the Partner.
- Leading client meetings and supporting the team in developing presentation materials for project kick-off meetings, requirements gathering, project management, presentation of results, etc.
- Leading current state assessments and maturity analysis based on best practices, industry trends and KPMG’s various data and information governance, data management and analytics maturity frameworks.
- Work with technology solution teams to identify and support implementations.
- Leading implementation of roadmaps across all IT domains, including process and data flow, governance frameworks, quality management programs, platform modernization & rationalization, governance frameworks, business cases, cost/benefit analyses, etc.
- Leading and guiding clients in implementing recommendations.
- Responsible for delivering high-quality work on time that meets the Firm’s quality standards and client expectations.
- Working with cross-functional teams with people of diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
- Applying best practice and process maturity knowledge observed in client engagements and personal research.
- Travel may be up to 30%
What you bring to the role
- 10+ years of experience in IT strategy, consulting, or CIO advisory roles.
- Professional background in the Energy and utilities industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale IT transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of AI, enterprise architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital platforms.
- Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience with ERP implementation.
- Strong network of IT leaders within Alberta.
- Proven experience in building and managing high performing teams.
