The mission we are proposing:

The Production Manager is responsible for the packaging department. Through your leadership, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all production-related activities. This usually involves managing human, material and financial resources to ensure that products are produced efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards, and in complete safety.

An overview of your new position

  • Manage your department's human resources to support the company's short- and long-term production execution
  • Engage your team to produce quality products, respecting health & safety rules
  • Determine staffing requirements based on projected and planned products
  • Be responsible for the development and training of all the department's human resources to support the organization's objectives
  • Develop and execute health & safety, quality, service, productivity, waste and cost action plans for the department in partnership with all necessary support functions
  • Act as an ambassador for the company's Lean culture
  • Develop and present improvement projects
  • Coordinate within the department and with the functional support structure day-to-day activities to execute operational plans within pre-established cost, quality and service parameters
  • Manage and improve production systems within the department
  • Develop standards and annual budget
  • Evaluate and analyze departmental equipment installations
  • Participate in equipment and plant purchasing decisions for the department

You are the ideal candidate if you have

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment
  • Mastery of LEAN and continuous improvement concepts
  • Experience in managing a team of around 100 employees (an asset)
  • Bilingualism essential (French and English) to communicate effectively with our English-speaking workforce and clientele.
