Traffic Coordinator
What you will do
The focus of this position is to ensure that the materials and resources flow through the company in a timely manner, while anticipating problems and developing plans of action, to minimize delays in our organization’s workflow. You will utilize intermediate to advanced knowledge of inbound and outbound logistics and customs documentation for the Company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers, clients, and other departments within the company.
How you will do it
Provide a variety of inbound and outbound logistics and customs documenting to individuals at different levels of the organization and to any client by:
Generating shipping paperwork for submitting to appropriate parties (drivers, carrier dispatch, US and/or Canada Customs)
Monitoring the flow of materials or resources to ensure on time delivery
Entering freight invoices to accounting department
Troubleshooting any problems to ensure projects or process remain on schedule
Logistics Coordinator must also work with Internal and External customers to develop a schedule for the delivery of products or resources
Confirming that work process is continuing on schedule by monitoring communication and work between Production/Shipping/Logistics departments
Managing deliveries with contracted carriers and ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers; manages timing of deliveries and packing schedules
Develop and recommending improvements in current delivery practices to promote more efficient and accurate services with low costs
Certifying that contracted couriers follow company policies and procedures when delivering products to customers
Establishing positive working relationships with Internal and External customers
Perform other duties as assigned
What we look for
Required:
High school education and at least 5 years work experience, or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and 2+ years’ work experience
2 years’ experience shipping product internationally, specifically the US. Must have familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
Courses in project management and/or training in scheduling, leadership, and time management
Good knowledge of transport industry and traffic
Good communication skills, oral and written
Proficient knowledge in MS Office
Ability to solve business challenges and develop good reasoning solutions
Understanding of guidelines, direct response, and customer experience
Strong organizational skills to coordinate and mange materials
Detail-orientated project management and communication skills
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Strong team player, proactive, and enthusiastic about obtaining great business results through creative project execution
Occasional travel to field worksite locations, will require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
