Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.


This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.

This role will be offered to work on a rotating day shift (6 AM - 6 PM, including weekends).

Overview

The primary role of the Sealer/Prepper is to prepare equipment for painting through sealing, masking, sanding and other applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.

  • File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.

  • Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting.

  • Mix, blend, and match paint colors.

  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns.

  • Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues.

  • Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies.

  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset.

  • Previous experience working with sheet metal is an asset.

  • Previous autobody prep experience is an asset.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.

  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to distinguish colours.

Working Conditions

  • Commercial/Industrial environment.

  • Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.

  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).

  • Long periods of standing.

  • Overtime as required.
