About the Role
Johnson Controls’ Silent-Aire division is seeking a Design Review Automation Engineer/Specialist to lead a data-driven feedback loop for engineering design reviews. This role will analyze CoLab Design Review and AutoReview AI data, refine internal design standards, guidelines, and checklists, and validate improvements through iterative AI reviews. The successful candidate will combine strong data analytics, technical writing, and CAD expertise to elevate design quality and efficiency across the organization.

This is a contract role that will go through September 2027, with potential for extension or transition to permanent .

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze CoLab Design Review and AutoReview AI data to identify trends, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.

  • Create and update design standards, guidelines, and checklists for PTC Creo models, engineering drawings, and related documentation.

  • Feed updated standards into CoLab AutoReview and rerun AI reviews to validate improvements.

  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, and standards committees to ensure alignment and adoption of revised practices.

  • Author clear, user-friendly technical documentation and training materials.

  • Build Power BI dashboards to monitor KPIs such as review time reduction and defect catch rates.

  • Support integration efforts with CoLab and other platforms using APIs or automation tools.

  • Participate in cross-functional workshops and training sessions to promote best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong data analytics skills with experience in Power BI or similar BI platforms.

  • Excellent technical writing and documentation capabilities.

  • Hands-on experience with 3D CAD design, preferably in PTC Creo.

  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and basic understanding of AI feedback loops.

  • Experience working with APIs or scripting tools for automation and integration.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill) and design review workflows.

  • Certifications in quality, process improvement, or data analytics (e.g., Six Sigma).

  • Experience implementing or maintaining engineering standards programs.

Work Arrangement
Open to candidates based in Edmonton or remote. Occasional travel may be requested for workshops or training. This is a term role supporting a multi-year initiative, with potential for extension or transition to a permanent position.
