Respiratory Therapist | Community

Position Summary
We have a relief full-time Community Respiratory Therapist opening in Kelowna, B.C. This position is expected to run until December 2026 or the return of the incumbent. This position works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 08:00-17:59. This position requires a current valid BC Driver’s License.

About the position:

The Community Respiratory Therapist works within the hospital and community to deliver respiratory therapy services and programs related to Community Respiratory Therapy, including:
• The promotion of respiratory health
• The assessment, education, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with respiratory dysfunction
• Communicating and demonstrating community and hospital based respiratory care procedures to other health care professionals and students
• The use of respiratory equipment or special procedures.

Qualfications
Graduation from a recognized program in Respiratory Therapy and two years’ recent experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, asthma education, respiratory home care, home ventilation, home oxygen, and sleep disordered breathing screening, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) Credentialing Exam.
Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
