Position Summary
Gillis House, located in Merritt, B.C., is looking to hire a Rehabilitation Assistant to join it rehabilitation team on a casual basis. Days of work are Mondays to Fridays; 08:00 to 16:00.

The rehabilitation team is dedicated to enhancing quality of life through evidence-based practice, collaboration, and a focus on each individual’s unique strengths and goals.

Rehabilitation assistants play a vital role in helping residents maintain and improve their mobility, independence, and overall well-being. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team-including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and care aides-you’ll have the opportunity to apply your skills in a supportive environment that values teamwork, learning, and resident-centered care.

In this role, a Rehabilitation Assistant:
- Is empowered to operate at the top of their scope.
- Engages patients through consistent therapeutic interventions.
- Drives substantial progress in meeting patient needs and their rehab journey.
- Serves as an integral member of the rehabilitation team.
- Is relied upon as the eyes and ears of the rehab team, ensuring comprehensive care.

This is opportunity means hours may vary weekly and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees receive an additional 13 percent of straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays.

Qualfications
Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Class 5 Vehicle License if applicable.
