How You Can Make a Difference:
In accordance with the organization’s vision, values, and professional practice standards, the Recreation Therapist provides client- and resident-centred recreation and leisure programs that support health, functional ability, personal development, and quality of life. Working both one-on-one and in group settings, the Recreation Therapist assesses individual recreation and leisure needs, develops and implements therapeutic recreation plans, and evaluates outcomes to ensure meaningful engagement and goal attainment.
The role involves completing recreation and leisure assessments, documenting behavioural and functional observations, and developing individualized therapeutic recreation plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. The Recreation Therapist monitors client progress, revises goals and timelines as needed, and contributes to the ongoing delivery and quality improvement of Recreation Therapy services through participation in meetings, education, and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized diploma or degree program in Recreational Therapy plus two years recent related experience.
• Eligible for professional membership with the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association (BCTRA).
• Current valid BC driver’s license.
