About this position:
Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a tertiary referral hospital serving as the major referral centre for the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap region. RIH provides a broad range of specialized services, including 24-hour emergency and trauma care, surgical services, neurosciences, rehabilitation, mental health and substance use services, obstetrics, ambulatory care, and outpatient clinics. The opening of the modern Phil & Jennie Gaglardi Tower has further enhanced patient care and created a contemporary clinical environment for staff and patients alike.
For the Physiotherapist, RIH offers a dynamic and rewarding acute care experience with exposure to a diverse patient population across multiple specialty areas. Physiotherapists are integral members of interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and other allied health professionals to support patient recovery, mobility, functional independence, and safe discharge planning.
A unique feature of the Physiotherapy Program at RIH is the opportunity to rotate through different clinical areas approximately every four months, allowing Physiotherapists to develop a broad skill set and gain experience across a variety of practice settings. Rotational opportunities may include medical and surgical units, rehabilitation, neurosciences, trauma, intensive care, orthopedics, emergency services, and other specialty programs. This model promotes ongoing professional growth, clinical variety, and continuous learning.
