Position Summary
We are hiring for a permanent part-time 0.70fte Occupational Therapist for the Quick Response Team in Vernon. This role focuses on supporting the emergency department and our most frail clients with remaining at home and appropriate discharge planning. This is a very independent role that closely collaborates with the wider rehabilitation team including Physiotherapy, Rehab Assistants, Social Work and Nursing. This position requires a valid BC drivers license and a personal vehicle for work purposes.

Days of Work: Thursday, Friday, alternating Wednesdays and alternating weekends
Shift times/Hours of work: 08:00 to 15:42

About the role:
The Occupational Therapist works independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, and may be providing a full range of occupational therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community settings.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapy programs to promote functional independence and optimal health outcomes.
• Provide consultation, education, and support to clients and their caregivers.
• Prescribe and recommend appropriate equipment to enhance daily living.
• Participate in program planning, quality assurance initiatives, research, and departmental meetings.
• Offer guidance and work direction to rehabilitation assistants regarding transfer of function.

Qualfications
Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
Full practicing licensee as an Occupational Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
