Position Summary
We are hiring for a relief part-time 0.69fte Occupational Therapist for the Kelowna General Hospital. This position is expected to run until September 2026, or the return of the current incumbent. This position has a strong emphasis on discharge planning, cognitive assessments and equipment provision. A valid BC drivers license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of this position.

Days of Work: Rotating. Requires working every other weekend and some weekdays.
Shift times/Hours of work: 08:00-16:00 and 09:00-17:00

About the position:
The Occupational Therapist works independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, and may be providing a full range of occupational therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community settings.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapy programs to promote functional independence and optimal health outcomes.
• Provide consultation, education, and support to clients and their caregivers.
• Prescribe and recommend appropriate equipment to enhance daily living.
• Participate in program planning, quality assurance initiatives, research, and departmental meetings.
• Offer guidance and work direction to rehabilitation assistants regarding transfer of function.

Qualfications
Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
Full practicing registration as an Occupational Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Valid BC Driver’s license.
