Position Summary
Are you looking for a meaningful role where you can walk alongside community and make a real difference?

We’re seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join us in supporting the Simpcw First Nation on their health and wellness journey. This role is more than clinical care, it’s about building trusted relationships, honouring lived experiences, and creating space for healing rooted in culture, connection, and community. We’re looking for someone who leads with heart, values reciprocity, and understands the importance of showing up with respect and a willingness to learn. If you bring a relational approach to care and a commitment to walking alongside others in a good way, this is an opportunity to uplift voices, strengthen community, and be part of a path forward-one that honours tradition, embraces the present, and supports a healthier future for generations to come.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and community-oriented Nurse Practitioner (Family) to serve as the primary care provider for Simpcw First Nation members, both on and off reserve. In this meaningful role, you’ll provide trauma-informed, person-centered care across the lifespan-from newborns to Elders-supporting wellness, continuity of care, and equitable access to health services. When capacity allows, care may also extend to other Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members, reflecting a welcoming and inclusive approach to local health needs. Care is primarily delivered at the Simpcw First Nation Health Centre, with occasional home visits to ensure accessible, relationship-based care.

Hours: 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday.

Location: The position will be based at a single clinic. Simpcw First Nation Territory, 500 Dunn Lake Road, Barriere, BC

Salary range for the position is $74.74/hour - $82.21/hour. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant.

• Ongoing support from Interior Health and Indigenous Health teams.
• A relational model of care grounded in trust, cultural safety, and mutual respect.
• Dedicated time and resources for professional development, Indigenous cultural learning, and peer mentorship.
• A weekday schedule that supports work-life balance and meaningful community engagement.

Who We’re Looking For

• A Nurse Practitioner (Family) licensed to practice in BC, with a passion for collaborative, community-based care.
• A practitioner who brings cultural humility, relational accountability, and a commitment to health equity and reconciliation.
• Experience in Indigenous health, rural/remote practice, or culturally safe care is an asset, but above all, we value a willingness to listen, learn, and grow in partnership with community.
