Position Summary
We have casual opportunity for a Medical Radiation Technologist to join our team at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital (SLH) in Salmon Arm, BC.

Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Work will be available on a short-notice, on-call bases and/or blocks of shifts pre-scheduled to relieve leaves of absences. What Will You Work On?
The Medical Radiography Technologist performs radiographic/fluoroscopic, CT Scans and related duties working in conjunction with radiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.

How Will You Create Impact?
SLH is a busy facility located on the Trans-Canada Highway, capturing the needs of several surrounding communities.

Population draw is over 33,000 with some programs, such as CT and Echo, serving an additional 10,000 from Revelstoke. The Imaging Department at SLH has large, spacious diagnostic rooms in all departments. The department boast Digital Radiography in all rooms, including the portable. On site Radiologists allow for a wide variety of exams and interventional procedures.

The majority of work is outpatient based, with approximately 40 percent on inpatients or emergency patients. The department operates from 07:30 - 23:30 seven days a week, with on call services after hours. SLH provides approximately 26,000 x-ray exams per year. This includes speciality procedures such as Fluoro, injections, biopsies, drainages and the OR.

How Will We Help You Grow?
We have an excellent team, including five Radiologists on site. All of our Interior Health sites are connected through our regional PACS System (Picture Archive and Communication System) and integrated into our single Electronic Health Records, providing real-time patient histories anywhere within Interior Health. We have clinical advisory groups that are working together to ensure best practice throughout Interior Health.

Who Are We Look For?
We are looking for a team player who works well within a multi-disciplinary setting, is organized and has excellent commination skills. The successful applicant will be someone who can work independently and who is comfortable working alone in the department.

Effective April 01, 2024, the hourly wage will be $36.69 to $45.81 per hour.

Qualfications
• Graduate of an accredited medical radiography program.
• Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
