Position Summary
We are seeking a Casual Freezer Stock Attendant at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, BC.
Days of work: Rotating, Days, Monday to Friday
Shift times: 05:30 to 13:30, 06:00 to 14:00

What will you work on?
This position maintains Food and Nutrition Services stores and performs related duties such as receiving, checking and issuing stock and maintaining appropriate records. Also assembles, pans and packages food items and operates related equipment. Maintains Food Safe standards.
Typical duties:
• Maintains records of inventory freezers and advises when established reorder or production points are reached. Performs physical inventory of food, paper and chemical supplies and relays information to appropriate staff members.
• Receives, unpacks, and checks incoming food and supplies; ensuring that goods are delivered as per specifications. Rotates stock in fridges, freezers, tempering units, and other storage areas to minimize spoilage and waste and to ensure safe food and chemical handling.
• Checks invoices against orders and goods received. Reports problems and discrepancies to Senior Cook or Food Service Supervisors.
• Assembles, packages, labels and transfers food to the blast freezer.
• Assembles, issues delivers and ships food and supplies from requisition requests received. Withdraws food from frozen inventory and places in the tempering units. Adjust daily withdrawal sheets according to menu, tallies and cookouts.
• Identifies and returns damaged or spoiled goods to suppliers as directed by the Senior Cook or Food Service Supervisors.
• Maintains security measures by promptly putting away food orders and supplies and by keeping the inventory at lowest level possible.
• Keeps freezers and stores area in sanitary and tidy condition. Checks temperature of the tempering units, fridges and freezers twice a day to ensure they are appropriate. Reports any maintenance problems to the Senior Cook or the Food Service Supervisors.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualfications
Grade 12 plus one years’ recent related experience in a Cook Freeze System and Food Safe Level 1 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience and Food Safe Level 1.
