Sr Accountant

Key responsibilities include overseeing full-cycle accounting for three or more entities and supporting additional tasks related to financial reporting, internal controls, and system maintenance.

About the Position

• Reporting to the director of finance, the senior accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Compile and prepare monthly financial statement packages, budgets, and cash flow statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany account reconciliations, and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and income tax reconciliations.
• Address accounting inquiries and resolve issues, including reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly GST/HST filings and other applicable commodity tax returns.
• Support the year-end review and audit processes by responding to auditors’ questions and preparing working papers and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Analyze monthly variances between actual results and budgets to identify trends and issues.
• Generate ad-hoc reports and assist with special projects or other accounting-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Designated CPA
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Diploma or a degree in accounting

Compensation And Benefits

• Salary: $90,000 to $100,000

• Hybrid role - 3 days in office, 2 days from home.
