Senior Agri-Business Underwriter

Join a Growing Farm Underwriting Team. Our client is a well-established property and casualty insurer seeking an experienced Senior Farm Underwriter to join their growing Farm Underwriting team. This newly created role is designed to strengthen the team’s technical expertise while supporting continued business growth.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll underwrite complex agricultural risks, mentor junior underwriters, and serve as a trusted technical resource.

What You’ll Do

• Underwrite new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy changes for complex farm risks.
• Manage an assigned broker portfolio while maintaining strong relationships.
• Review inspections and ensure profitable underwriting decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior underwriters.
• Support onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Participate in occasional broker visits and industry events.

What You Bring
Required:

• 6-8+ years of Farm Underwriting experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of agribusiness underwriting.
• Experience handling medium to complex farm risks.
• Excellent broker relationship management skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others.

Preferred:

• Experience with larger commercial farm operations.
• Guidewire experience.
• CIP designation or working toward it.
