About The Opportunity

About The Position
Reporting directly to a senior IP lawyer, you will play a key role in supporting the firm’s IP practice through exceptional clerical and administrative work. You’ll manage critical deadlines, maintain the internal IP database, and handle correspondence with CIPO, WIPO, and foreign associates. The position also involves billing coordination, document preparation, and occasional support to other team members. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent organizational skills, discretion, and a high level of professionalism.
The Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a legal assistant role, preferably with patent experience
- Legal Assistant and/or Patent Administrator Certification from an accredited institution
- Experience with Canadian and international patent applications
- Familiarity with tools like PATTSY, 3E, InTapp, iManage, and DocuSign is a strong asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience supporting legal professionals in an EA capacity is an asset
- LAA Certificate preferred
Compensation
This position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package:
- Salary: $55,000- $65,000 commensurate with experience
