Are you an experienced insurance professional looking to step into a leadership role within a dynamic and respected organization? Our client, who is a well-established Brokerage in BC is looking for an experienced Commercial Line leader to join their high-performance team. The team is renowned for its collaborative culture, commitment to excellence, and focus on employee growth. As part of the Commercial Lines division, this department manages a high-volume portfolio of large and complex commercial accounts, providing a fast-paced, supportive environment where your expertise can make a real impact.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned insurance specialist to lead, inspire, and shape a dedicated team in delivering outstanding service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor a team of Commercial Lines Assistants, Account Administrators, and Account Managers, fostering a positive environment that drives productivity and morale. Perform staffing and performance evaluations, coordinate workflow, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and refine workflow systems to enhance efficiency, monitor department performance metrics, and ensure compliance with licensing, underwriting, and company standards.
- Lead the creation of submissions, liaise with markets for new/renewal business term changes, negotiate coverage and pricing, and maintain ongoing relationships with clients and underwriters.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external clients, managing inquiries, providing technical policy support, and identifying business development opportunities.
- Partner with department and company leadership to develop strategies, implement initiatives, and contribute to monthly meetings, training, and team-building activities.
- Conduct periodic file audits, review processes, and ensure the team’s adherence to best practices, underwriting guidelines, and privacy standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 7 years of Commercial insurance experience.
- Valid AB or BC insurance license; additional designations (e.g., CAIB, CIP, CRM) are considered an asset.
- Experience working with EPIC
- Strong leadership capabilities, with demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate staff.
- Exceptional organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships across organizational levels and with clients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with active listening and objection handling abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Deep industry knowledge of Commercial Lines policies, procedures, and market trends.
