ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This Intermediate Underwriter is responsible for operating within defined guidelines and service standards, manages commercial property and casualty policies to contribute to the profitability of the business portfolio. You will be responsible for developing long term relationships with the extensive network of brokers across Canada, underwrite various risks including niche and specialized risks .

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Quoting, negotiation, and approval of new business, renewals, and endorsements.
• Collaborate with assigned brokers to align with regional commercial business goals in profitability.
• Make risk decisions within set authority levels and per company underwriting guidelines.
• Offer technical training, coaching, and development support as needed.
• Perform other related tasks as required.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years experience in Commercial P&C Underwriting, new business and service
• Strong knowledge in underwriting pricing models and guidelines
• In progress with or designated in CIP or CRM

COMPENSATION

• $75,000 - $85,000 salary depending on experience plus annual bonus

• Flexible work schedule, hybrid 1 day in the office
