Description
Our client is an established Vancouver-based real estate developer and property owner with a strong portfolio of residential and commercial properties throughout the region. They are looking for a Building Operator to join their team and support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and overall performance of a commercial property on the North Shore.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong building maintenance background who enjoys working across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and general building systems.
Compensation
- $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary, with flexibility for the right candidate

Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation, maintenance, repair and inspection of building systems and common areas
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and minor repairs across HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests and service calls in a professional and timely manner
- Monitor building systems and assist with emergency power, life safety and water treatment programs
- Coordinate and support contractors working on site
- Maintain mechanical rooms, service areas and other property assets
- Respond to building emergencies and report safety hazards, incidents and equipment issues
- Assist with events, deliveries, special projects and general property operations
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records and service documentation
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of experience in building operations, maintenance or a related field
- Class 4 or Class 5 Building Operator/Power Engineer certification is an asset
- Technical training from BCIT or a similar institution is an asset
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
- Comfortable with hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance and minor repairs
- Strong communication, organization and customer service skills
- Reliable transportation to the North Shore location
- Comfortable with occasional schedule flexibility, including weekends, adjusted hours and after-hours emergency response
