Audit Manager – Private Company

Our client, an established public accounting firm in Vancouver, is looking to add an Audit Manager to its team.

This is a hands-on role for a designated CPA with strong public practice experience who can independently manage assurance engagements, support clients across a range of accounting and tax matters, and mentor junior team members.

The Role

• Manage and review audit, review, compilation, and tax engagements
• Lead files from planning through completion and ensure deadlines are met
• Apply strong knowledge of ASPE across client engagements
• Work with IFRS and ASNPO engagements where applicable
• Review personal, trust, and corporate tax returns, along with GST, T4, and T5 filings
• Identify and resolve accounting and tax issues in collaboration with Senior Managers and Partners
• Manage client relationships and respond to accounting, tax, and financial reporting questions
• Delegate work effectively across staff levels
• Review staff work and provide ongoing coaching and technical guidance
• Mentor Senior Accountants and junior team members
• Manage multiple competing deadlines and client expectations
• Support business development and relationship-building initiatives

What You Bring

• CPA designation
• Minimum 1 year of Manager-level public practice experience
• Strong ASPE experience
• Experience independently managing audit and assurance engagements
• Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards
• Experience reviewing and mentoring staff
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines independently

Nice to Have

• IFRS experience
• At least one Canadian tax season with working knowledge of Canadian taxation
• Experience with personal, corporate, and trust tax returns
• Experience with CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office
• ASNPO experience
