About the Role
The Financial Accountant will support full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting activities for the organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial data, maintaining accurate general ledger records, and supporting internal controls. It’s a great opportunity for an accountant who enjoys hands-on work, cross-department collaboration, and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute full-cycle accounting, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Prepare bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Develop supporting schedules, variance analyses, and management reporting packages
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, recommending improvements where needed
  • Partner with other departments on financial inquiries and reporting needs
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and assist with ongoing process enhancements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of IFRS
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA considered an asset

Compensation

  • Around $70,000, depending on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Hybrid work environment (Vancouver-based)
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak reporting periods
