POSITION: Wellness Coordinator
Mitchell and Area Community Outreach
Full-time
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of the Wellness for Seniors program in order to meet the needs of seniors and disabled in West Perth. The Wellness Coordinator will also recruit, direct, support and evaluate wellness volunteers. The Wellness Coordinator will also work closely with other Outreach staff to ensure smooth delivery of services and programs.
REPORTS TO: Manager of Outreach Services
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $24.16 to $26.19
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements:
- Diploma (2 Year) or Degree in Kinesiology, Fitness & Health Promotion, Rec & Leisure, Social Services/Gerontology, Nursing or related field.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
-Valid driver’s license is required
-Valid First Aid and CPR certificate is an asset but not required.
- SFIC, StrongerU or SMART exercise certification preferred
- Experience in volunteer management and working with seniors/disabled persons an asset
Abilities:
-Strong computer skills required with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and client management programs
-Strong communication skills both verbal and written required
-Lead group exercise classes as well as one to one sessions
